Console-only gamers and devout hardcore PC players alike paused their games for at least 3 and a half hours to take in The Game Awards 2024 on Thursday night to look back on what the top games of the past year were and to catch a glimpse of what they’ll be playing next year. Between live performances from Snoop Dogg, Twenty One Pilots, D4vid, Royal & the Serpent, and pieces from the official Game Awards Orchestra, host Geoff Keighley fed gamers a lively stream of celebrity appearances and surprise announcements between the many awards handed out for the best of the best in 2024.
Of course, many had their 4K monitors and TVs prepared for any news from Rockstar and 2K about GTA6 (nope), while others were just as happy to drink in the onslaught of amazing trailers from both expected and promising new games throughout the night.
